What is positive thinking?

I was thinking today, and asked myself, “what is ‘positive thinking’”?… we hear a lot about it, but what is it exactly?

Before putting the powers of positive thinking to work in your personal and professional life, you must first understand exactly what positive thinking is.

By definition, the word ‘positive’ means dealing with matters of fact; expressed clearly, or in a confident or peremptory manner.

However, in the concept of positive thinking, the word positive is meant to signify a manner of thinking: a manner that puts emphasis on processing thoughts in a more desirable, upbeat way.

Positive thinking can be described as the practice of embracing the affirmative in our thoughts, our feelings, our actions, our reactions and our speech.

Positive thinking can also be described as a type of attitude. Happy, optimistic people are usually described as having positive attitudes and expressing positive thoughts. People who consistently “look on the bright side” are utilizing positive thinking.

Most importantly, positive thinking can be described as a skill that can be acquired by anyone. By learning the process of positive thinking, you can more easily reach your goals, whether they are personal goals or professional ones.

People Buy For Their Reasons, Not Ours

I had a call recently from someone who said he’s afraid to market online because a lot of the information he wants to sell is already available for free.

I have always said, and most experts agree, that, “People buy for their reasons, not ours”.

And that is true.

So how should we look at this problem with a winning attitude?

First, nothing EVER sells itself. Just because you have it on your shelf or website, doesn’t mean anyone will buy it. Even if it’s free, most people will treat it as ‘free’ and totally under-value the information and possibly treat it as “worthless” because they got it for free!

Straight Talk About Information Overload And How To Overcome Of It

Information overload is a huge problem for the majority of internet marketers. Some of the comments like, “I’m experiencing severe information overload”, are accompanied by statements that indicated a great deal of confusion and the inability to know what to do to even start an online business.

If you’re experiencing ‘information overload’ there’s a solution.

I know. Because I used to suffer from this 21st century disease and have completely overcome it and haven’t experienced a relapse in over years.

Here’s what I experienced:

I was so eager to learn the ’secrets’ of Internet marketing I purchased books from ClickBank and just about any website that offered even a single idea that could push me into success.

Of course, after 5 to 6 hours a day of reading I would feel what most of the online marketers feels: Confusion, despair… I even felt worse off than I was before!

Isn’t that strange?

I felt worse off than I was before.

But why?

That was strange… I read, studied and absorbed whatever information I could. I wanted to learn, so why did I feel worse off than before?

One reason was that everyone I read had a different point of view. They all had different ways of achieving success. One was successful with affiliate marketing. One was successful writing ‘killer’ web copy, another was successful selling physical products, yet another was successful with AdSense, etc…

They each told me I could be successful too… all I had to do was to do what they were doing. But in my own mind I couldn’t create a synthesis of their methods… they were too diverse, different, and divergent.

So, what I felt was more confusion. I had learned a lot of successful ways and methods of generating an online income… but I had learned what worked for someone else and had not yet created what worked for me.

That’s was clue #1 for overcoming information overload…
